Dancing Couple

Dancing the Night Away

It’s time to dust off your dancing shoes and get making those moves on the dance floor! The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, who are known to enjoy a dance or two are inviting you to attend the “Charity Dance Night” in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal. There will be varied music styles throughout the evening for everyone to enjoy ranging from ballroom, rock n roll and swing dance. The event features female vocalist, Hayley Berrisford, cabaret dance troupe Elite Dance Academy, DJ FESH and BBC radio presenter Ed Doolan.

The Cadbury Club in Bournville will host the Charity Dance Night which takes place on Saturday 20th March, 7.30pm – 11pm. Tickets are only £5.00 per person. To purchase yours please call the ticket hotline on 0121 451 4264. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor.

Auction Hammer

The Lord Mayor's Charity Auction

The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress are hosting an auction evening to raise funds for the Lord Mayor's chosen charities. The auction event is being held on Thursday 1 April in the Banqueting Suite at the Council House.

Tickets are priced at £2.50 (£3.00 on the door) which includes a two-course meal with a glass of wine, entertainment from the ‘United Brothers in Christ’ gospel band and ‘Hina’, an Asian Girl Dance Trio.

Items being auctioned on the night have all been donated, and include a football signed by the Blues team (‘BCFC’), a bottle of House of Commons whisky signed by the three political leaders, vouchers for Slaters Menswear and leading city centre hair and beauty salons, concert and sports tickets, perfumes, an Ipod, laptop and an Xbox to name a few.

The evening starts at 6pm and auctioneer Blair Kesseler will be working hard to keep the bids coming in. A raffle will also be running throughout the evening.

Walking Boots

Are your boots made for walking?

St Basils who work with young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless are hosting “The Cotswolds Challenge”. This fundraising event is to give walkers a safe and enjoyable challenge whilst raising money for St Basils, one of the Lord Mayors Charities. It takes place in the Cotswolds, starting and finishing from Chipping Campden School in Chipping Campden, on Saturday 5th June 2010.

There are 2 circular walks starting and finishing from the same point at Chipping Campden School. The shorter walk is about 14 miles and the longer walk is about 28 miles. Your team can start at any time between 7am and 9am on Saturday 5th June 2010.

Teams must consist of between 3 and 6 people. The fee for each team is £125 however we encourage you to try and raise as much money as you can for St Basils. Each team you will receive a comprehensive walk guide, an Ordinance Survey section map, an evening meal for each person and a medal of honour. All types of accommodation are available in the area and there are camping facilities close by.

There are marshal points around the walking route and some of them will have emergency supplies of Cadbury’s chocolate and water, however we do urge all walkers to come prepared with water and provisions.

This event is very popular and attracts hundreds of people every year. The closing date for entrants is 21st May 2010, to register please download the registration form below, complete and return.
