Children Have Summer Fun At Aston Hall

Last updated 31st August 2010

Linda Garey and Anne–Marie Hayes, joint BEST Leaders from Blakesley & Aston Hall community museums, held their BEST workshop in June 2010.

The team decided that they wanted to reach out to the families living in hostels and create a fun activity day that the children could get involved in.

The pilot event was held on Thursday 19 August 2010 at Aston Hall with 15 children aged 3-11 years old attending. Their fun filled day consisted of treasure hunts, creative shield making and a guided tour of Aston Hall.

Fortunately, the children were experts at finding the clues as the organisers could not remember where they had hidden treasure! They later went on a tour of the building and kept their eyes open for any ghosts that may be around the corner.

The whole day proved a great success and further activity days will be planned across other community museums in the future.
