Jackie Culliford receives her Senior Leadership Award from Stephen Hughes

We are pleased to announce a relaunch of the BEST 'Senior Leadership Award'. This award is to recognise and reward the outstanding contribution, leadership, innovation and creativity regularly shown by our senior leaders in Birmingham City Council. In times of change and turbulence it is even more important to celebrate and communicate excellent practise, and our senior leaders are no exception to this. The way our senior leaders manage their services and themselves is the foundation of BCC, and sets the example for how we manage ourselves and our people.

It's very simple to nominate your senior leader, it can be a peer, your own manager, or someone in your service area you wish to recognise. You could also consider partners or leaders from other service areas. The simple criteria is attached to this page and also on Inline where you can also find details of previous winners.

To nominate you can:

  • Email your completed nomination form to best@birmingham.gov.uk
  • Email a short paragraph why you are nominating the individual to Raffaela Goodby or Charlotte Ody (both on Lotus Notes)
  • Call 0121 675 1579 and ask for details of the Senior Leadership Award.

The awards will be presented at managers network events, and at CMT seminars, or other manager events as appropriate. All winners will be featured in Inner Voice, on Inline and in newsletters, and will receive a small trophy and certificate.
