In March this year, BEST Leader Dave Rose and his colleague Richard Green from the Selly Oak Constituency Team approached the Dragons’ Den asking for funding to host their “Hi There, Bee There Goes Green’ event in August. The team, working in partnership with Cocks Moor Woods Leisure Centre & Be Birmingham, wanted to bring the local community together with the focus on going green, sustainability and promoting their Bee Active scheme. The team wanted funding for an arts bus for children, re-useable banners and goody bags with information in promoting the local council services. The Dragons’ thoroughly enjoyed their innovative presentation and were delighted to provide the funding required for this community event.
