Sammi Williams
I started my journey with Birmingham City Council in January 2005 within Corporate Human Resources. This is where I soon found my interest for event management. I was delighted to join the Engagement team as an events officer in June 2007. My role is to organise and event manage various corporate events. These can range from senior management conferences, training drives, award ceremony's, employee engagement networks, unconferences and large scale outdoor events. I coordinate these from the concept all the way through to the evaluation process. I find theses events motivating, refreshing but yet challenging in their own way!
An element of my role is to manage the Corporate Awards Panel who oversee the development and submissions for national and corporate awards. Being part of the process which rewards and recognises the Council's achievements is hugely rewarding, and even better when we win!
As part of my role with BEST I support the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Anita Ward with raising the awareness of her Charity Appeal within Birmingham City Council and beyond. This part of my role I find immensity interesting, charity is area of work which I have a real passion for and very close to my heart.
I am truly committed to the work which the Engagement, Reward and Recognition team carry out. The team are positive, creative and very supportive of each other - the enthusiasm is infectious.
