I have been with Birmingham Council for six years and joined as a newbie 18 months after graduating from a Psychology degree. I joined the Council as a Human Resources Advisor working in reward, and then discovered a passion for all things organisation development and engagement.

I have been leading Birmingham BEST since the launch of the programme in 2006. I am the BCC lead for the Lord Mayor's Charities and manage a number of organisation development projects on behalf of the Chief Executive including emerging leaders, non financial recognition, middle manager engagement and others.

My areas of expertise and passion are around employee engagement, culture change and transforming ways of working, the psychology of change, recognition for engagement and motivation, behavioural change, return on investment, middle manager engagement & leadership, everything to do with the BEST programme, positive psychology, social media to drive engagement, just anything to do with people and how they tick!

Local Government employs unique & amazing people and I feel very proud that our Birmingham BEST employee engagement programme offers people more opportunities to bring their lights out from under a bushel, and show the UK how unique and talented us Local Gov'ers are, and how much we care about the services we deliver!
