Dragons breath fire into Perry Common Library relaunch

Last updated 11th November 2010

In July this year, BEST Leader Eileen Smith and her colleague Kevin Duffy, Constituency Library Services Manager from Perry Common Library, approached the Dragons’ Den asking for funding to re-launch the library to the community. The library has been closed since September 2008 and the team wanted to reopen with a bang to encourage service users to come back and attract new customers.

After successfully gaining the funding from the Dragons’ Den, the event went ahead and was a huge success with over 1,100 people attending. Councillor Barbara Dring (Oscott Ward Chair) and Councillor Keith Linnecor (Oscott Ward) were both in attendance to officially open the library and family fun day.

The highlight of the day for the children was the pre-school story time, while the adults were equally as excited as the children with Clive Chandler’s puppet show ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’!

Perry Common Library is now back open for business!
