BEST 2008 TRAINING PILOT A SUCCESS
The BEST 2008 training pilot was held between 14th-19th February at Birmingham City Football Club with BEST Leaders and Managers from the Adults and Communities Directorate.

What is BEST Dragons’ Den?
We have listened to the BEST Leaders on what worked, what didn’t work and the improvements we could make for 2008. BEST Leaders have often expressed that they need more resources and support to carry out their agreed BEST actions. We understand that the BEST leaders need funding in order to improve the service they provide to their customers & the community, which often cannot be found locally.

A big congratulations to the winners of the March BEST ‘Living It’ Awards. The BEST Leader of the month award was won by Dewan Choudhury, a contracts works officer in the Housing and Constituencies directorate.

The BEST Celebration Event, was held on Monday 16th June in BMAG to celebrate and recognise the people that have been critical to the success of BEST including mentors, facilitators, co-ordinators and BEST “Living It’ monthly Award winners.

By now all BEST Leaders and Managers should have attended their BEST 2008 training. It is vital that all Leaders attend this years training as the BEST workshop process and materials have changed, and this years training also includes facilitation skills, turning negatives into positives and other useful skills for your own development.
