'Living It' - October 2010
October saw two teams being awarded the Living It of the Month Team award. Firstly, the HMP Birmingham Library from the Environment & Culture Directorate; the team were nominated by Param Rani. Param felt the team shared and communicated their ideas which enabled them to effectively action their tasks. The team looked for new ways of working and always take pride in their work.
The Housing Strategy and Partnerships team from Housing & Constituencies Directorate were nominated by Noel McGurran. Noel nominated the team for their positive ‘can do’ approach to their roles. They promote the benefits of partnership working, leading by example and encouraged the directorate to follow suit.
The BEST Leader of the Month award went to joint Leaders Lavern Brown and Balbir Kaur from the Adults and Communities directorate. Lavern & Balbi were nominated by the rest of their team at Assist Birmingham Centre because of the excellent service they provide to their service users, taking pride in their work. They have been positive BEST leaders, changing the teams attitude towards BEST.
John Winfield won the Manager of the Month award. John was nominated by Nikki Mason for his motivation and inspiration. He always encourages his team, giving them the confidence to solve and work through any issue they may face. John openly shares information with the team, showing enthusiasm for their ideas.
