'Living It' - December 2011

The Living It Awards are a chance for staff to recognise and thank their BEST Leaders, Managers, teams or fellow employees for the work that they have done. These awards are particularly important as it involves staff being recognised by their colleagues for the achievements they make. 2011 has been an extremely difficult year for most; however its testament to you all that we have seen so many fantastic winners. This year we have presented over 40 awards, more than any other year since the scheme was introduced. We would like to congratulate all of our winners in 2011, the winners for December are:

Employee of the Month winner Lydia Miller from the Culture Commissioning Service, Environment and Culture was nominated because she is always the first to volunteer to help in any situation, sharing her knowledge and helping her colleagues. Lydia always strives to learn more.

She rallies the team together at every opportunity, with her ‘can-do’ attitude and belief in providing an excellent service to customers. Lydia’s pro-active, professional and hard working attitude has eased the team’s struggles.

Joint BEST Leader winners Les Baldwin and Kevin Hamilton from Tyburn Road Day Centre, Adults and Communities were nominated because they have been dedicated, enthusiastic and pro-active Leaders for the last five years, guiding their team through the process.

Les and Kevin have influenced and supported the team through successful Dragons’ Den bids. They have been instrumental in creating belief within the team, creating continued successful outcomes and a positive outlook.

Team of the Month winners Birmingham Audit, Adults and Children’s Team from Corporate Resources were nominated for working extremely hard to successful achieve their individual and corporate targets.

The team all take an innovative and pro-active approach to creating creative ideas and ways of working. They all strive to promote the benefits of their service to all of their customers, actively raising the profile of the team.
