Are you Living it?
Recognising and thanking your colleagues has never been easier and now is the perfect time to start thinking about nominations as your leader should have completed their training, BEST workshops are happening, teams are coming up with actions to improve the service we deliver to our customers.
Each month there is the opportunity to congratulate and share in the success of Leaders, Managers, Teams and Senior Managers that are truly living the values of Belief, Excellence, Success & Trust in their daily working lives. All winners receive a trophy, certificate and the chance to feature more widely in newsletters, inner voice and web (if they want to). Winners also have the opportunity to be nominated for the annual Chamberlain Awards held each November.
Is your BEST Leader someone who:
Is passionate about BEST and what it can do for the their team & their organisation? Focuses on finding solutions and positive thinking? Has an inclusive ‘we’re all in this together’ attitude, and show themselves to be supportive and trustworthy?
Do you have a manager that:
Has enabled teams to achieve their BEST actions by removing barriers and promoting success? Recognises and celebrates their team’s successes? Speaks openly and honestly with team members, encourages open conversation and supports teams in difficult times?
Are you part of a team that:
Works to build relationships with other teams and departments in Birmingham? Actively look for ways of developing new ways of working to improve themselves as a team ? Put their customers at the heart of everything that they do? Are creative about their actions and are not intimidated by change or barriers?
Does your Senior Manager:
Enable real change in their service areas? Lead by example? Are they passionate about improving the services we deliver to the citizens of Birmingham, whilst seeking to engage their people in their vision, in an open and honest way?
How to nominate
If you would like to nominate a colleague or team, complete the nomination form attached below and return it to BEST@birmingham.gov.uk.

Winners receive a trophy, certificate and an invite to a recognition networking event so we can say ‘thank you’ in person, as well as featuring in the BEST Newsletter, twitter feed @birminghambest and other channels.
