Generation BEST members were offered their own personal guide to the confusing world of social media at a special Social Media Surgery last month.

The informal seminar was run by Dave Harte, formerly of Digital Birmingham and now a lecturer on the Social Media MA at Birmingham City University.

Offered exclusively for members of Generation BEST, the council’s network for younger or early career staff, the session was designed to develop skills by giving members the confidence to explore social media tools such as iGoogle, RSS Feeds, and social bookmarking. Dave also gave advice on using social media to connect with service users.
