Employee of the Month - February/March 2011
The Engagement, Reward and Recognition Team are pleased to announce the launch of an additional category to the BEST Living It Awards.
The new ‘Employee of the Month’ award will reward outstanding achievement and commitment of any employee of Birmingham City Council.
Without any promotion, we already have received eight nominations, all fully deserving the ‘employee of the month’ award.
The winners for February are:
Paulette Farquarson, Administration Assistant, Education Psychology Team, Children Young People and Families Directorate. Paulette was nominated for her use of her initiative, taking the lead, and training her colleagues. She has undertake extra roles as development, now being a confident strong leader.
Christina Fern, Team Assistant, Children Services team, Children Young People and Families Directorate. Christina was nominate for her professionalism and excellent customer service. She is always willing to help, sharing her knowledge and experience with others.
Rose Cotton, Neighbourhood Advisor, Selly Oak and Cotteridge Neighbourhood office, Housing and Constituencies Directorate. Rose was nominated for her long service and dedication to your service area. She has an excellent reputation in the local community; excels in everything she does, building successful and trusting relationships.
Martin Griffin, Community Development Worker, Selly Oak Group Number 7 – Community Development, Housing and Constituencies Directorate. Martin was nominated for his commitment to the community, always give a hundred percent and helping turn Masefield Hall into a focal point for the community.
The Winners for March are:
Linda Garey, Permanent Museum Assistant, Museums and Heritage, Community Museums, Environment and Culture Directorate. Linda was nominated for her outstanding innovative idea of offering nature trails and play to the children of disadvantage families living in refuges or homeless shelters.
Lorraine Lane, Community Childcare Tutor, Birmingham Adult Education Service, Adults and Communities Directorate. Lorraine was nominated for her ability to challenge children with behaviour problems, poor concentration and lack of communication skills. She is a gifted, dedicated tutor, working with the hard to reach parents and children.
Paul Brady, Highways Department, Environment and Culture Directorate and Mark Gardener, from Amey. Paul and Mark were nominated for showing outstanding customer service, going beyond what was expected of them. The customer was so impressed with them, he contacted the Chief Executive directly to inform him of their actions.
