Do you dare to enter the dragons den!

We have listened to our BEST leaders and to their suggestions, and designed a “Dragons Den” style concept where BEST teams will have the opportunity to apply for additional resources for their BEST workshop action from a panel of senior manager ‘dragons’.

To apply for Dragons' Den funding, BEST Leaders and their teams will complete an application form , outlining what improvements they will make as a result of their dragons den action. The action must be as a result of the team holding their BEST workshop, and relate to the values, service improvements, improvements in team working or financial efficiencies.

The BEST team then shortlist the application forms and invite teams to present their case to the ‘Dragons Den’ panel, with guest ‘dragons’ to include the Chief Executive and Cabinet Members as well as representatives from our external sponsors and customers. The dragons will decide who gets backing for their actions, based on the team demonstrating they can make real improvements with the extra resources they are asking for.

The BEST team will offer support after the presentations and check that the actions have happened and been implemented. Creative presentations are welcomed, you can use props, persuasion and as much innovation as you can think of! (Some presentations may be filmed with prior permission).
