Chamberlain Awards 2009

The 2009 Chamberlain Awards were presented on Friday 6 November by Cllr Alan Rudge, Cabinet Member for Equalities and HR and guest compere comedian Rhona Cameron.
The Chamberlain Awards, now in their fifth year, aim to honour and reward employees who are dedicated to delivering excellent services to our citizens.
The scheme, which is managed through the Corporate Human Resources team, is named after Joseph Chamberlain, one of Birmingham's most distinguished civic leaders. Under his leadership Birmingham was described as the best-governed city in the world. Today we remain dedicated to providing quality services to the public and business alike.
Birmingham City Council is the largest employer in the West Midlands Region. Employing over 55,000 workers to deliver high quality services to residents and businesses and when they do it well it pays to reward their achievements. Recognising good work improves staff motivation and increases productivity.

It has been an incredible year for the BEST Programme Team, winning an impressive array of national awards including the HR Excellence Gold Award, but to receive recognition from our own colleagues and peers meant the world to us, thank you!
The BEST Programme team would like to thank all BEST Leaders, Managers and Teams for their continued hard work and dedication to employee engagement in the Council.
