BEST Receives Red Balloon Recognition

Last updated 27th May 2009

The BEST Programme is proud to have been awarded a place on Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s new Red Balloon Corridor.

Red Balloons are awarded to celebrate the role played by companies and individuals who have supported the hospital’s Red Balloon Appeal. The Red Balloon Corridor in the hospital’s main entrance was opened in a special ceremony this week, where outstanding donations were publicly recognised.

The Red Balloon Appeal started in 2007 to help regenerate the hospital’s buildings, and has so far raised over one million pounds for the Burns Unit and the Kidney Kids campaign.

As neighbours of the Children’s Hospital, the BEST Programme team have been supporting the appeal since it first began, and as well as fundraising as a team, have regularly donated the beautiful floral displays from our monthly BEST Recognition Events.

The flowers have brightened up the hospital’s main reception, ward receptions and chaplaincy where they have cheered up patients, staff and visitors alike.

We will continue to support the hospital throughout the year as it embarks on its next phase of fundraising to extend the Intensive Care Unit. To find out more about the appeal and how you can help, go to http://www.redballoonappeal.info/
